Baratti is a little town of the tuscan coast located at the center of a big natural gulf.
The town is an appreciated tourist destination and an important archaeological area. In its territory are in fact returned to light some ancient exhibits, artifacts, tombs and temples made by the Etruscans. Inside the local Archaeological Park, the most important in Val di Cornia, are included beaches and woods. In fact, although the coast is the most busy area, even the hinterland is full of surprises.
The wild mediterranean vegetation behind the beach is crossed by numerous paths which are ideal for hiking, mountain bike and even for wonderful horse trips. Along the trails you are completely immersed in the nature, in its sounds and aromas. The most beautiful itineraries allow to admire breathtaking views over the sea, ancient altars, necropolis and early christian churches.
The water of the Gulf of Baratti, pure and crystal clear, are perfect for scuba diving, sailing trips and fishing trips.The sea in this stretch of coast is not dangerous for kids because the water level is low until several meters from the shore. The wide golden beach is the perfect to relax in the sun or have fun with the whole family.
